A new, sustainable, and environmentally friendly residential area is being developed in Rotterdam. Here, we find the new 50-ton Sennebogen 1100G crawler crane from Jaco Huissen Kraanverhuur B.V. The crane rental company specializes in placing prefabricated concrete elements, particularly for residential construction. Jaco Huissen is very pleased to be working with this technologically advanced crane from Sennebogen’s new G-series during the construction of the “green” district.
The Parkbuurt construction project is being realized on the edge of Rotterdam, in the Oedevlietpark. This project, initiated by the municipality of Rotterdam, aims to replace the existing apartment buildings with a sustainable, child-friendly residential area for families and small households. Phase 4 of the project is currently underway, with a total of 30 prefabricated homes being built. The individual elements, such as floor slabs, walls, and ceiling structures, are prefabricated in the factory and assembled on site. The Sennebogen 1100G series is used at this location for processing prefabricated concrete elements weighing up to 8 tons. This includes picking up the concrete elements from their temporary storage and moving them to the designated location.

As is customary with prefabricated assembly, the concrete elements are often delivered a few days in advance and temporarily stored elsewhere on the construction site before they can be assembled. It is therefore a must that the crane has solid lifting capacity, but is also flexible and maneuverable, so that it can be safely moved on the usually tight construction site. As with this project. The 50-ton Sennebogen 1100G is easy to move on the construction site thanks to its compact dimensions, but also particularly powerful and efficient with its two 120 kN winches, which enable cable speeds of 125 m/min.
Owner Jaco Huissen emphasizes: “After 30 years, we have replaced our old crane with a new Sennebogen crane. I am very satisfied with the user-friendliness and stable operation of the 1100 G since I started working with the crane, which is now six months ago. In addition, the machine has a modern Stage V engine. In combination with Shell’s GTL Fuel, we can now reduce emissions to an absolute minimum.”
The new ‘green’ park district in Rotterdam is already living up to its name during construction!
