The VDH-PV335 is a multifunctional piling rig for carrying out various types of foundation work on railway projects. The machine can drive piles or tubes using the mounted 3-tonne hammer, drill using a drill motor that can be mounted, and a vibratory hammer can be installed in the machine for vibrating various types of sheet piles. The PV335 is so compact that the machine can do its work while the adjacent tracks can remain operational. This ensures increased productivity.
In the VDH workshop, two different types of self-propelled hydraulic rail sets are mounted under the machine, so that the PV335 can carry out foundation work from the track. An advantage of these rail sets is that they are self-steering and one of them is even pendular. This makes the machine extremely suitable for working on tracks with switches, in sharp bends and in hilly conditions. Thanks to the 60 cm wide track plates, the PV335 can also be used next to the track. In addition to the rail set, a leader, hammer, sliding table, winches and extra ballast are added to the machine in the workshop. The special sliding table – which can be extended further than that of the PV15 – ensures that the leader can do its work in different positions and the reach is greater than with the PV15.

Despite the fact that the machine is so compact, the PV335 can drive piles of various lengths up to a maximum of 7.5 meters. This is due to the height-adjustable leader specially developed by VDH. Different drive caps can also be used on the machine. This means that both square piles and piles with threaded ends can be driven into the ground.
