Crawler telescopic crane: the perfect alternative to the mobile (lattice boom) crane.

In civil engineering and road construction, where the terrain is often rough, it is important that the equipment can function without problems. Also for infrastructure works, when you have to pass under bridges, railway lines or high-voltage cables, the equipment must be flexible. “In such cases, the crawler telescopic crane is a perfect alternative to the mobile crane,” says Rienk Nadema, Commercial Manager Sennebogen Cranes at Van den Heuvel Werkendam (VDH).

Custom made and according to standards
“We not only sell reliable brands, but are also able to adapt them to customer or project specifications, or to design and build high-quality machines. Naturally, we are also the place to go for parts and expert service.” VDH distinguishes itself by responding innovatively to changing market conditions and specific customer needs. Years of experience, the use of modern techniques and careful engineering contribute to the best possible interpretation of the customer’s question, which we then translate into the most appropriate solution. “An elevated galvanized driver’s cabin? A sea-port coating because it concerns a coastal project? A sliding table on the machine for foundation work? These are all extras that VDH can supply,” says Nadema. “We engineer and construct it, supported by the Sennebogen factory and with CE marking according to applicable standards, such as EN16228 for foundation techniques.”

Crawler telescopic crane

The Sennebogen crawler telescopic crane is compact and robust, making it ideal for civil engineering and road construction. Easy to transport on a low-loader and ready for use immediately once on site. “No outriggers are required, which also makes a setup inspection unnecessary. Of course, the crane is not only efficient but also safe and meets the strictest standards, even when we have modified the machine,” says Nadema.

Pinning and moving with load

Thanks to the full power boom, the hydraulic boom is extended in one go without pinning, even with a load. It is even possible to move the crane with a load. “You won’t be able to do that with a wheeled crane,” Nadema knows. The boom can be retracted according to the needs of the work, making it more comfortable to move under bridges or high-voltage lines, for example. A major advantage for the civil engineering and road construction market. The latest model, the Sennebogen 6103 (a 100-ton crawler telescopic crane) will be available from mid-2021. “Like all new models, this type is also equipped with a Stage V engine, so that work is cleaner, quieter and more efficient. The machines are easy to maintain and can be equipped with various accessories.“ Nadema concludes: “VDH is adding another great crane to its range with this.”
